Talking about the MoUs and agreements, signed in Istanbul in the fields of energy, agriculture, trade, urban and rural development, he said it would prove to be a milestone in the trade and commerce relations between Pakistan and Turkey and would revolutionise the economic ties of both the countries.
"These agreements would provide better job opportunities for the people of Punjab and the economic growth of the province would increase," he added. According to him, the gathering of 100 chief executive officers of reputed Pakistani firms in Turkey was a historic event and would leave far-reaching impacts not only on the economy of Punjab, but also of the whole country. As a result of close relations between Pakistani and Turkish industrialists, trade volume of Pakistan would increase.
Punjab would improve its agricultural production by benefiting from the successful experiences of Turkey in the fields of drip irrigation, livestock, horticulture and dairy development. He said Pakistan was the fourth largest producer of milk and the Turkish investors could achieve excellent result by investing in dairy sector.
"The PBIT is providing full co-operation to foreign investors in their projects in Punjab and liberal commerce policies have been framed to gear-up the economic growth of the province," he added. He thanked the Turkish investment promotion agency DEIK and Pakistani Embassy in Turkey to support Pakistan businessmen in their corporate endeavours in Turkey and arranging meetings with Turkish trade firms.
